The Kingdom of God

For the last 2 years I have been studying the Scriptures from a more biblical-theological mindset (seeing the whole story of Scripture from start to finish), rather than from a systematic-theological mindset (seeing Scripture only through the lens' of single verses without respect to thier role in the whole story context-all 66 books). This type of reading (biblical-theological) has revolutionized my understanding of Scripture and doctrine. Nothing has been as rewarding in my studies as much as learning how to read Scripture. The whole story of the Bible is a beautiful one of God establishing his Kingdom. The Kingdom is from Genesis to Revelation into eternity.
I have come to understand the church as God's special people called out from the world to rest in grace under his rule and sovereign authority as our King, in order that we may proclaim the excellencies of him who called us from darkness into his marvelous light (1Peter 2). This has huge ramifications for all of us who belong to the church. As Kingdom subjects our gathering times must reflect the presence of the King who dwells among us (empowering us all within). Consider the sanctity of the Temple in the OT. How much more now should the people of God honor his presence among us with holy lives and fruitful worship since the beauty of the story has taught us that he no longer dwells in houses made with human hands (Acts 7) but rather dwells within us, his special people.

I will end here for the sake of time, but I will be posting on the ramifications of reading Scripture biblically-theologically in the future. Don't forget the story of Scripture in your daily readings. Only when we understand the whole can we best understand the pieces.

Actually, I am unaware of your "calls"? I imagine you have called (maybe) my cell phone, of which, the battery never lasts and I never have on me?

thanks anyway for the "friendly" reminder.

it's not my fault that your phone is budget; what a pathetic excuse.
is that the kind of crap you're gonna feed your would-be congregants when they call their pastor for counseling?

"oh, i'm sorry; i don't check my voicemail because i don't care about the people i'm in relationships with. actually, you're not alone - my wife's been trying to get a hold of me for weeks now."

sad.
stick to framing, hater.
leave ministry to the lovers.
