Brrrrr...

Who would ever want to live in the North? Unfortunately, I think that I am going to be soon enough (Pittsburgh). What to do?

Rarely are baseball games postponed when there isn't so much as a raindrop. But Thursday's 1:05 p.m. ET scheduled game between Detroit and Toronto at Comerica Park was postponed by 10:15 a.m. ET due to chilly 27-degree temperatures and wind gusts as high as 32 mph.
Those wind gusts created a wind chill of 14 degrees, and the game was called due to "inclement weather," though there were only moderate snow flurries that fell leading up to the scheduled game-time. The forecast in Detroit didn't look much better the rest of the day, with a high temperature of 36 degrees and wind gusts of 40 mph.
"It was a smart decision, players are at risk," manager Jim Leyland said. "I think also you think of the fans when you call a game like this. No one wants to come out in this."

Yeah its pretty cold here. This just means one less game without Kenny Rogers, so I'll take it.
Why are you moving to Pittsburgh?

you can't handle the north, thomas.
and trust me - as one who hails from the great state of pa, it only qualifies as 'the north' in proportion to the mason dixon. many places are colder (not the least of which is the windy city where all 5 of your friends will be). ha!

bruno...
congrats, bro - see you there.

No matter what the weather is you cannot beat openning day baseball. Speaking of baseball have you asked dougie what his prediction is on the World Series? With the "prediction" he had last year and how cool he thought he was I want something in writing this year! It cannot be "well that is what I meant by the cardnals and Tigers will both be good." That is not a prediction!!!

Bruno/David:

Dan Valentine and I are most likely going to be planting a church in downtown Pittsburgh with another couple from our local church here also. In total, as of right now, we have 8-10 adults going and thier families (obviously).
This is going to be happening around June/July of 2008. I finish seminary this year and then we will be planning for Pittsburgh.

Logan:
Trust me, I went to the North-Land, I can handle d'burgh.
What does that say for the motorcycle though?

sthomas:
I hear ya. doug needs to put it down in writing. Right here on the blog. it will stay safe in the archives!

Just because you couldn't do something like that by faith doesn't mean others can't. We gonna be rollin' in the d'burgh.

That’s quite the judgment to be passing, I don’t think you really know where the Lord has me, and weather or not I could do anything by faith. But despite the low blow, I will continue praying that the Lord will direct whoever He sees fit to minister with you down in PA.

Now now lads. Adam, what is the availability and price on a three bedroom apartment in Pitt?

3 bedroom? your going to put all your kids in one room. You need a 4 bedroom that way the boys can share a room and jasmine gets her own room and that gives room for the guests that come down to visit, you know, when I come down to buy your tv from you.

Your right..... Adam how much for a 4 bedroom apartment in Pitt? Are there any body shops down there? I am offering you (jesse) a one time deal for my tv.... including a family discount how about $2800.00.

I suppose that I have TOTALLY missed the concern that you voiced with regard to how people are agreeing to the need for a work in Pitt. However, even re-reading your comment I find it hard to discern what exactly you are trying to state?
I simply do not want the process by which people that we have spoken to/with are choosing to commit to Pittsburgh. I am not taking this process lightly or conversing with people about the work with mere slogans or begging them to join us. We are asking them to seriously pray about their own God-given desires to burn out brightly for Christ and his kingdom and to see if God would have that burning be accomplished in and through Pittsburgh.
Again, I am confussed as to how I gave a 'low blow' exaclty in the context of your suggestion of 'wanting to see contracts'?
I am missing what exactly is going on here or how exactly I am being labled as 'the bad guy' that you are willing to still pray for?
I'm sorry, I am just missing it?

The first part of my comment was "I simply do not want the process by which people that we have spoken to/with are choosing to commit to Pittsburgh being mocked or spoken lightly of. This seemed to me to be the sense of what was being suggested."
This is what I meant to say in the previous post.

thanks

I can see where you could have been able to misunderstand my statement. I was making light of the situation because I know you have been talking to your brother about going to PA. In no way did I mean I wanted to see contracts. I was just joking about the situation. As much as I do pray that the Lord directs Stephen and Jeannine to where ever He would have them, it would be very hard to see them leave.
I was never insinuating that you didn't really have that many people willing to go minister with you, on the contrary I know you do have that many people ready and willing, like I said it was supposed to be a joke. I am sorry you took it to mean that I was calling you a liar, that was not my intent. It was just supposed to be a joke, ha ha ha. It was also not ment to insinuate that no one would be willing to drop everything, to go and serve the Lord, because I know several people that would, I like to think I would drop everything, given the opportunity and the calling. Again, I am sorry you misunderstood my sarcasm, I hope this clears things up.

Thanks for the clarification on the original comment. No hard feelings. I know we all hate blogging for the same reason we love it, communication. That is, communication is terrible yet enjoyable for blogging. It is just really hard to know sarcasm sometimes since there is no audible 'tone' obviously.
I remove my scathing comment on your lack of faith. No hard feelings jesse.
Thanks for your prayers.

Here's to more bloggin' mistakes!

Well, now that you boys have cleared things up, I believe it is time for me to step in with a light-hearted comment on the Tigers.
Stephen; as far as my "prediction" last year, I am sticking to my guns, I was correct. And I was correct on my prediction on Verlander as Rookie of the Year.
AT; I think that you need to block your brothers comments on your blog. By the way my prediction this year, Tigers 97-65, with a great playoff run.
PS did you get my email?

Doug,
As far as your "prediction" of last years world series, you and I both know you are at best strecthing the truth. As for the Verlander prediction I give you this nugget of thought to ponder on ....Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
